Jen Chapin’s music is urban folk soul — story songs that search for community and shared meaning, powered by the funk and improvisation of the city. She is currently developing a new theatrical concert- Essential Stories – comprising two decades of songwriting, sculpted into an intimate autobiographical narrative of family roots, parenting, ambition/ambivalence and politics. In the past, Jen has volunteered with WhyHunger, co-founded by her father, as a part of their Artists Against Hunger and Poverty program. The organization provides critical resources to support grassroots movements and community solutions rooted in social, environmental, racial and economic justice.
